Getting to Know You…er, Me.
I saw this on a homeschool blog and since I’m feeling under the weather today, took a little break to fill it out.
Your family is…
My husband and our two sons, G who is 7, and D who is 3. And me.
Name 5 homeschool products you cannot live without.
I’m not a “product” person; in other words, I’m frugal and live very simply (read that as VERY simply). I don’t spend money on gadgets and other things that most people think they can’t live without. Um, that said, I certainly couldn’t live without my laptop. It’s a crucial homeschooling tool for today; I do all my curriculum research and most of my curriculum-buying via my computer. So that’s the one thing I’d say I can’t live without. Everything else, I guess I already am surviving without.
What was your favorite toy as a child?
My bike. It took me on so many adventures.
What is your favorite toy as a grown-up?
My bike. It takes me on long, relaxing, enjoyable fitness rides.
When you were little, what did you want to do when you grew up?
I wanted to be a mom. Period. Mission accomplished.
How many houses have you lived in?
Just houses? Two growing up, and two that we’ve owned (including the current one).
Favorite homeschool hero?
No one in particular. I learn from all of them.
Favorite Bible verse?
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
If you could travel back in time, where would you go?
Oh, what a question for a history buff! I could come up with so many answers! I guess my top answer is medieval Europe, to experience their routine daily life. But I’d like to skip the plagues, thankyouverymuch.
What kind of homeschooler are you?
The lazy kind.
Okay, I’m also pretty traditional. I like to do textbooks & daily work for core subjects, but I also veer off and do non-traditional things in the subjects where that works out well (history, science).
Do you have an accent?
I’m Southern, y’all…what do you think?
What are you good at?
Projects around the house, being truly frugal and stretching every penny, organization, being a trustworthy friend, and writing.
What are you horrible at?
Time management, social situations, being liked by others.
Tell us something really strange about yourself.
Everything.
Um, okay. I have a hair phobia, specifically the hairs that accumulate in the shower drain (gag!).
You, my dear, are one of the most spectacularly brilliant people I know. This is why you don’t like people… too many stupidheads. lol
That said – I loved reading this, though I knew most…
Sweet dreams!
